The History and Origins of W113 Pagoda Club Poland

W113 Pagoda SL Club Poland is an association uniting enthusiasts of the legendary Mercedes W113 model, commonly known as the “Pagoda.” The idea to form the club was born in August 2013 during the 50th anniversary celebration of the model’s debut in Willingen, Germany. Five Polish teams participated in the event and, inspired by its size and prestige (with over 200 participants!), decided to establish their own club in Poland.

The association was officially registered in the spring of 2014 (official Facebook profile W113 Pagoda Club Poland).

Early Successes and Events

In its very first year, the club had the opportunity to present itself to a wide audience. Its debut took place at Auto Nostalgia 2014, where the club won the award for Best Club Stand. This marked an important milestone that cemented the club’s presence in Poland’s classic car community.

Meeting Paul Bracq

The summer of 2014 brought another significant moment – the club established contact with Paul Bracq, the legendary designer of the Mercedes Pagoda. In September that year, ten Polish teams visited the Master in his hometown of Bordeaux. The meeting was incredibly inspiring, and Paul Bracq agreed to become an Honorary Member of the Club, a title confirmed with an official certificate.

Events and Gatherings

Pagoda Day 2015

In June 2015, the club organized its first official celebration of Pagoda enthusiasts at the Mercedes Station in Warsaw. The guests of honor were Paul Bracq and his wife Alice. Attendees enjoyed a lecture by the Master and a showcase of exceptional Pagoda examples.

First club rallies

The club’s first informal rally took place in June 2016, following picturesque routes through the Warmia and Masuria regions. Participants exchanged experiences and admired the beauty of Polish roads. This successful experience paved the way for the first International Pagoda Rally, held in 2017 during MotoClassic Wrocław.

International Rallies of W113 Pagoda Club Poland

MotoClassic Wrocław 2017 became a meeting place for Pagoda enthusiasts not only from Poland, but also from the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Scotland, Switzerland, and Sweden. Once again, the honorary guests were Paul and Alice Bracq. The Master also served as Honorary Chairman of the Concours d’Elegance Jury.

Development of W113 Pagoda Club Poland and Partnership with Classic Poland

Since 2017, the club has been steadily expanding its initiatives, becoming a strong strategic partner of Classic Poland – a series of events dedicated to classic car enthusiasts.

This partnership enables the organization of prestigious rallies, gatherings, and events that foster the exchange of experiences among car lovers from across the country.

The club is valued not only for its superb event organization but also for its exceptional, family-like atmosphere, which continues to attract new members and fans of classic cars.

W113 Pagoda SL Club Poland is a remarkable community that not only preserves the history of the Pagoda model but also brings together its enthusiasts to create a space full of automotive passion.
